In her compositions Sinta Wullur
strives to integrate east and west. Characteristic of her music is the
cross-pollination between traditional Indonesian (gamelan) and western
contemporary music, in both voice and instruments.
The weekend featuring Sinta
Wullur includes three concerts and workshops of different vocal cultures and on the confrontation and integration of diverse cultures.
The concerts focus on the
integration of east and west in composing, with one concert and the
demonstration illustrating western and non-western vocal usage,
while the workshop and the concerts show gamelan music both as a source
of inspiration and in actual integration in the western music ensemble culture.

'Coloured Voices'
The first
performance will be given of the composition for which Wullur received a
commission from the Dutch Women and Music Foundation for her nomination as National
Women Composer. Vocalist Jannie Pranger will perform this piece.
