Piano Trios by Women Composers -2 december 2003, 13 january and 10 february 2004

Contributions by women composers to the programs presented in Dutch classical music halls are still minimal. That is why the concert series Piano Trios by Women Composers is offering audiences the opportunity to become acquainted with the lesser known but nevertheless captivating trios Henriëtte Bosmans (1895-1952) (1857-1944), Amy Beach (1867-1944) and Rebecca Clarke (1886-1977).

The Stichting Kamermuziek Amsterdam will present three concerts in the 2003-2004 season in the Recital Hall of the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, performed respectively by the Osiris Trio, the Escher Trio and the Ferschmann Trio.

These concerts are organized by Foundation KAM and in cooperation with the Dutch Women and Music Foundation.  

• tuesday 2 december 2003, Ferschtman Trio: Mila Baslawskaja piano, Lisa Ferschtman violon en Dimitri Ferschtman cello, Henriëtte Bosmans Trio and piano trios of Maurice Ravel and Franz Schubert, Concertgebouw kleine zaal, 8.15pm
• tuesday 13 january 2004, Escher Trio: Jeroen Bal piano, Sonja van Beek viool and Johan van Iersel cello, Rebecca Clarke Pianotrio and piano trios of Erich Wolfgang Korngold and Felix Mendelssohn, Concertgebouw kleine zaal, 8.15pm
• tuesday 10 february 2004, Osiris Trio: Ellen Corver piano, Peter Brunt viool and Larissa Groeneveld cello, Amy Beach Pianotrio and pianotrios of Frank Martin and Antonin Dvorak, Concertgebouw kleine zaal, 8.15pm
