The Stichting Vrouw en Muziek (Women and Music Foundation) was established in 1987 because the initiators noted that the art music of female composers was not performed enough. By organizing various concerts, among other things, she has demanded more attention for their work for decades. After a dormant period of about ten years, the foundation is active again. The still modest spearheads are creating a modernized and updated website and organizing writing sessions of biographies of female composers for Wikipedia. By participating in this influential digital encyclopedia, they are made more visible.
